It’s been a long, tough learning process to get the radiation blocking phone case the way I envisioned.

The manufacturer tried to sell me on a molding that holds each model of smart phone in place.  This seemed rather impractical to me, given the number of smart phones on the market and the number of moldings that would be needed to compliment each one.  Also, there are no sustainable materials that can be used for the molding.

So we settled on hemp elastic bands holding the phone in place!  Early versions of the phone didn’t have anything, as I spun my wheels trying to come up with the idea.

They also thought that vegan leather would be a good idea, but given that the cover of these phone cases feature various jungle animals, I responded with a resounding NO!

Tacky to say the least.

As you can see, earlier versions also had a cash holder, which didn’t work out so well because the hard bamboo casing is not malleable at all, making it very difficult to put cash in and out of the wallet.

The earlier versions also did not have the split down the middle of the back panel, which I thought would be a great idea for propping up the phone and watching video.

Never had the manufacturer made elastic bands holding the phone in place, a magnetic strap that flapped around to the backside (they had to embed a magnet in the back panel) so it did not cover up the artwork in the front…

Well, 5 prototypes and almost 2 years later, and it finally came out looking pretty sweet.

Hope you enjoy!
